Binance rose from a minor crypto exchange to one of the largest in the world in a really short period of time.
The exchange recently announced that it would be investing at least $2.5 million in TravelbyBit which is an Australian start-up integrating blockchain payments into the travel and tourism industry.
Binance teams up with TravelbyBit
TravelbyBit will be able to begin and work on its goal of making the Brisbane airport friendly to crypto users.
After the project is done, airport users will be able to transact within the airport using cryptos. The top choice will be Binance Coin (BNB) followed by other essential coins.
Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, stated “Real, on-the-ground, just-when-you-need-it use case is key for further crypto adoption. In this light, there is no better fit than being able to use your crypto when traveling, just after you land in a foreign country, where you may not have the local currency.”
He then added “Look for TravelbyBit and put your coins (hopefully the Binance Coin or BNB) to use. Let’s start with airports and go from there. Long-term, TravelbyBit shares our vision and values, and we are excited to work together with them to bring a blockchain-enabled economy.”
The partnership will lead to the introduction of a global POS system
This will lead to the introduction of a global POS system into major airports from all over the world.
According to the latest reports, Brisbane is said to be the first airport on the list.
Airport users will be able to use a crypto mobile wallet for POS payments that are secured and fast.
At the moment, TravelbyBit does not support payments using BNB on its multicurrency payment platform, but this is set to change shortly.
