Cardano (ADA)’s Charles Hoskinson Says That Tron’s BitTorrent Is An Example Of A Scalability Protocol
Charles Hoskinson discusses Tron’s BitTorrent. The founder and CEO of Cardano, and the Co-Founder of Ethereum had stated that BitTorrent is an example of scalability protocol during the Crypto ICO Summit.
Scalability, interoperability, and sustainability
The founder of Cardano said that back in 2015 IOHK was contacted for solving three grand problems of cryptos. The three issues were the scalability, interoperability, and sustainability.
“So regarding scalability, what do we want to do? Do we have any examples of scalable protocols? Probably used it. It’s called BitTorrent,” said Hoskinson.
He continued and explained the reason for which BitTorrent is scalable by offering the example of Game of Thrones and Pee-wee’s Playhouse.
Charles stated that the download speedofGame of Thrones is really fast on BitTorrent and it’s the most pirated show in the world.
Our team just got elected as one of the 27 #TRON Super Representatives! We are looking forward to playing our role in the network stability and reliability. Thanks for your support! @tronfoundation @justinsuntron $TRX pic.twitter.com/2v9qLubR7y

The download speed of Pee-Wee’s Playhouse is slow because many users do not prefer it.
“Well, why does it get faster? When people join a torrent’s swarm, they usually add resources more than they take. So more people, more resources, faster better performance. That is a really good distributed system. That’s why half a billion users. That’s why a third of all the internet’s traffic is carried by this protocol. It’s wildly successful,” Hoskinson continued.
BitTorrent is included in Project Atlas
BitTorrent is the biggest torrent app, and it was bought by the Tron Foundation back in July. Currently, BitTorrent is a part of Tron’s Foundation’s Project Atlas.
The project will be an integration of BitTorrent and Tron. The Foundation is working towards improving the BitTorrent protocol, and the team is planning to achieve this via Tron protocol.
The primary target is to make the platform faster and lengthen the lifespan of the swarms.
It’s also important to note that Charles Hoskinson is not the only notable person in the cryptosphere who has spoken highly of BitTorrent. Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, whose identity remains a secret, had also mentioned BitTorrent on his mailing lists a while ago.
