Coinbase Was Granted Operating License in EU’s Fifth-Largest Economy

Coinbase is making headlines again, and this time it’s due to the latest achievement in the EU. Check out the latest reports below.

Coinbase marks new achievement in the EU

New reports reveal that the crypto exchange Coinbase will begin offering its services in the Netherlands.

This comes right after winning approval to operate in the country, which has the fifth largest economy in the European Union.

Coinbase made sure to state the fact that they are now the first major global crypto exchange to successfully register with the Dutch Central Bank, the central bank of the Netherlands.

This latest achievement is part of the company’s continued expansion in countries outside of the United States.

Nana Murugesan, who is Coinbase’s vice president of international and business development, stated the approval illustrates the ways in which the company is working to bring its crypto services under regulations to facilitate industry growth and improve public trust in the sector.

“As part of Coinbase’s ambition to be the world’s most trusted and secure crypto platform, we have taken strides to work collaboratively with government, policymakers and regulators to shape the future in a responsible way.”

The same notes reveal the following:

“Coinbase prides itself on being a compliance-led business. The Netherlands is a critical international market for crypto, and I am really excited for Coinbase to bring the potential of the crypto economy to the market here.”

The mass crypto adoption is related a lot to regulation as we already said so far.

Coinbase in the news

New reports say that Coinbase chief executive Brian Armstrong thinks crypto regulation is a matter of national security for the United States.

It’s been revealed that Armstrong said it’s critical for the US to pass crypto regulations that foster domestic innovation.

It’s important to note the fact that he said: “the US missed on semiconductors and 5G. This is now largely manufactured offshore.”
