Crypto Influencer Started “Ripple One” Channel On Discord – Plans To Fork XRP

Ripple and the digital asset XRP have been surrounded by a lot of controversies.

A while ago, we reported that a crypto influencer created a petition asking Ripple to stop selling XRP.

Now the same person has just taken the very first step towards forking XRP.

Ripple has been put on notice

Back in August, it was reported that Crypto Bitlord has put Ripple on notice and said that he would launch an effort to fork XRP in 60 days if Ripple does not stop selling portions of the holdings to crypto exchanges and institutions.

The Daily Hodl reported that he said:

“Finally, people are starting to take this seriously! If they don’t stop dumping XRP, the next step will be a community takeover. We will fork this shit and start again. That is a promise!!”

He also responded to Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse who recently posted a tweetstorm in order to try and eliminate “fear, uncertainty, and doubt facing Ripple and XRP.”

Bitlord created “Ripple One” channel on Discord

Now, it seems that Bitlord sent a tweet in which he’s saying that he has created a channel on Discord called “Ripple One” that will be used to discuss the fork.

This Thursday, Ripple’s Brad Garlinghouse has addressed the fork issue for the very first time and he told CNN that anyone could fork the open-source XRP ledger if they choose.

“When people talk about forking technologies, you have seen Bitcoin forked multiple times. You have Bitcoin Cash, BSV, Bitcoin Diamond, I can’t name them all. There’s four or five forks of the Bitcoin blockchain. Bitcoin, obviously, the primary BTC, has remained the most notable,” Garlinghouse said.

He continued and said: “But in the same way, people can take XRP, an open-source technology, and hypothetically they could fork that if they chose to do so.”
