Crypto Mainstream Adoption: Spend Bitcoin And Altcoins At 90k Accommodations Across The Globe

Travelers and tourists are able to spend BTC and crypto to book destinations all over the world.

Travala is a blockchain-based hotel booking platform teamed up with the online travel agency giant Booking.com to enable crypto payments at accommodations all over the world, according to a press release.

Booking.com is based in Amsterdam and offers listings for 90,000 destinations across 230 countries, according to an official press release.

Besides traditional fiat, Travala supports payments with its utility token, AVA, and 20 other leading digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, BNB, Stellar and Cardano, according to the latest reports coming from the Daily Hodl.

Travala also said that half of their total bookings from October were paid in cryptos.

Travala CEO Matt Luczynski stated the following:

“This partnership allows our users to access Booking.com’s accommodation listings, as well as the listings from several other leading travel suppliers, which is a fantastic use case for our own AVA token and another huge step towards mass cryptocurrency adoption.”

The company also made sure to highlight the fact that this new partnership is a massive achievement for crypto consumers who want to use BTC, ETH, XRP, BCH, LTC, and other digital assets as everyday payment methods.

According to official notes, Booking.com “has recognized the value in making its vast portfolio of properties available to the growing blockchain and cryptocurrency markets.”

More than that, this move forward is a sign that “we are close to seeing the industry’s acceptance of cryptocurrencies as a standard form of payment for travel bookings.”
