Google And Apple Reveal Coronavirus Contact Tracking Tool For Android And iOS

Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, our lives have changed,, and they will probably never go back to quite what they were before.

The world is seeing fast digitalization, and the financial industry is also changing. Bitcoin and crypto might be the answer in times like these, according to more voices in the crypto space.

These days, money can be seen as a potentially dangerous weapon, with banknotes having the ability to promote the spreading of the virus.

Apple and Google work on a COVID-19 tracking tool

Tech giants Google and Apple work on a COVID-19 tracking tool in order to help health officials and individuals find out whether someone has come close with someone who is infected.

This tool is a joint venture between the two firms, which are focused on developing a tracking system that’s interoperable across iOS and Android devices.

The official announcement reveals that software devs will be using Bluetooth tech to develop application programming interfaces (APIs) that are designed to help governments and health agencies reduce the spread of the virus.

Maintaining a strong use of privacy protection

The tech giants also said that they are planning to maintain strong use of privacy protection as rolling out the tool. This can be integrated into apps from public health authorities.

Users of iOS and Android would be able to download the apps – these are scheduled to be released in May via App Store and Google Play, according to the latest reports coming from the online publication the Daily Hodl.

“In the coming months, Apple and Google will work to enable a broader Bluetooth-based contact tracing platform by building this functionality into the underlying platforms. This is a more robust solution than an API and would allow more individuals to participate, if they choose to opt in, as well as enable interaction with a broader ecosystem of apps and government health authorities,” according to official notes.

The notes continue and detail that “Privacy, transparency, and consent are of utmost importance in this effort, and we look forward to building this functionality in consultation with interested stakeholders.”

We recommend that you check out more details about this move on the Daily Hodl’s original article and on the official notes.
