The crypto market is not living its best days, as you know by now.

A lot of factors are causing significant crashes in the prices of Bitcoin and altcoins, and these factors include the global coronavirus disaster, natural corrections in the price of BTC ahead of the halving, which is scheduled for May, whale selloffs and more.

But the fall in prices does not mean that all kinds of developments in the crypto industry cannot still go on.

HTC reveals a portable router to run a full BTC node

For instance, HTC recently announced a portable router that will be giving crypto enthusiasts a few powerful features that include crypto storage, private key recovery, and the ability to run a full BTC node.

Exodus 5G Hub is a secure router that brings 5G connectivity to the internet-enabled devices. It’s got a focus on crypto and allows users to tap into HTC’s Zoin Vault – this allows crypto holders to store Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Coin, Litecoin, Stellar, ERC-20, and ERC-721 tokens.

Securing the world’s largest blockchain network

According to the online publication, the Daily Hodl, by operating a full Bitcoin, node users will also be able to help secure the world’s largest blockchain network by recording and verifying transactions.

“Unlike centralized crypto exchanges that hold BTC and crypto private keys on behalf of their clients, the Hub aims to promote financial autonomy by allowing people to control their own private keys through its Zion Vault,” the same online publication revealed.

HTC says its device empowers the individual and is “the ultimate safeguard against the collection of data by big tech companies in your home.”

“You are now verifying the cloud servers, rather than them verifying you. It is a complete power shift from the status quo,” according to the firm.

Control and ownership of data

Phil Chen, decentralized chief officer at HTC stated the following:

“Exodus is about ownership. Owning your keys, owning your data, owning your privacy. Exodus is the shield against the onslaught of big tech and its assault on the privacy of your home.”

He concluded by saying that by using the Exodus 5G Hub, people have more control and ownership of their data.
