Ripple Victory: Patent Infringement Lawsuit Dismissed – The Firm Welcomes New Remittance Partner

Ripple’s 2019 was a really successful year, and it’s expected that 2020 will be a more successful one, with the company gaining even more recognition.

Ripple lawsuit, permanently dismissed

It’s been just revealed that court documents are showing the fact that Cooperative Entertainment, Inc. dismissed its patent infringement case against Ripple with prejudice late last week. In other words, the lawsuit is permanently dismissed.

You may recall that the company hit Ripple with a lawsuit back in September 2019, and it was accusing the company of violating a patent that has been approved back in 2016.

This patent describes a peer-to-peer network controlled by nodes that allow content distribution.

They claimed back then that Ripple’s payment tech, which includes the use of the native token XRP violated the patent.

Anyway, according to the latest info coming from the online publication the Daily Hodl, the reason for the dismissal was not disclosed.

Unfortunately, Ripple still has to face a lawsuit on whether the company is illegally selling XRP as an unregistered security.

On the other hand, a judge considers Ripple’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit.

Ripple has a new remittance partner

The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) just became Ripple’s newest client.

It’s been revealed that the bank plans to use Ripple’s cross-border payments technology to boost the flow of remittances in the country.
