Ripple’s Brad Garlinghouse Is Bullish On Bitcoin
It’s been just reported that Ripple’s chief executive Brad Garlinghouse said that there isn’t a level regulatory playing field in the US between Bitcoin and other coins like XRP.
During a new interview, he said that he is definitely bullish on the king coin, but the odds are stacked against other digital assets due to the current regulatory framework.
Brad Garlinghouse is bullish on Bitcoin
“The fact that Bitcoin is the most liquid digital asset is a good thing, and once you have that, that’s helpful to the Bitcoin community. Look, by the way, as much as I get accused of being anti-Bitcoin, I own Bitcoin. I’m bullish on Bitcoin for sure,” he said, as cited by the Daily Hodl.
He continued and explained: “I think it’s important to understand that those advantages that can start because of an uneven playing field, it’s not just, ‘Oh now we’re on the level playing field, and it’s going to reset to normal.’ The longer those advantages are in place, the more the competitive dynamics. The moats are created. I think that’s hard to overcome.”
He also brought up China and said that the country is looking at a really long time in which the underlying techs will be boosted – cross-border transactions will evolve. He made sure to praise China for being smart and strategic for its investment in emerging tech.
We recommend that you check out the complete interview in the video above in order to learn what more he had to say about all this.
Ripple outperforms banks
Earlier today, we revealed that Ripple is gaining more and more recognition these days.
It’s been just revealed that the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) says Ripple and other cross-border payments challengers often outperform banks in more than one aspect.
The firm said that cryptos are increasingly relevant and that banks need to “revamp” their cross-border business practices.
Garlinghouse is both the CEO and Chairman of Ripple Labs. This year, Ripple surpassed 300 partners, including over 115 banks worldwide. Having launched On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) for cross-border payments, Ripple now has more than 20 partners using XRP for ODL, including Moneygram, Western Union, and American Express.
