Social Networking Using Blockchain: Block.one Launches Its Social Media App

The use cases of crypto and the applications of blockchain are increasing in number, and this only takes the cryptosphere closer to mainstream adoption.

Block.one launches its social media app

Block.one startup just launched a new social media app.

The firm claimed to have raised the amount of $4.2 billion in an ICO back in 2018.

The app is called Voice, and it uses the EOS digital ledger that Block.one has helped to create in order to allow users post, share and promote content, according to the latest report coming from Bloomberg.

The startup is just one more company from more, which decided to renter social networking using blockchain.

The online publication mentioned above noted that Kik Interactive has already decided to run a social media network that uses Kin tokens although the SEC is reportedly considering an enforcement against the company.

And as we already reported, Facebook is also preparing a move into the blockchain as well with its own coin.

“The truth is, current social media platforms are designed to use their users,” Brendan Blumer, chief executive officer of Block.one, said in a press release.

He continued and said, “It’s the platform, not the user, that reaps the reward.”

Facebook will reportedly roll out GlobalCoin next year

It has been reported that Facebook is planning to launch its very own crypto.

Facebook is set to roll out its digital asset which is called GlobalCoin in 2020 says a recent BBC report.

BBC said not too long ago that Facebook is planning to launch the crypto-based payments system in “a dozen countries” by Q1 2020 and the social media giant is planning to start trials by the end of this year according to the reports.

There have been a lot of achievements this year that are taking the crypto space closer and closer to the mass adoption.
