Twitter Blocks XRP Payments Platform XRP Tip Bot

Twitter made a move that will definitely anger the XRP army of fans and Ripple enthusiasts as well.

Twitter blocked the famous XRP payments platform XRP Tip Bot which allows users to send XRP to one another by simply tweeting a string of commands, according to the latest reports coming from the online publication the Daily Hodl.

This platform was designed to offer users an easier way to reward one another and also to support content creators.

Twitter will not restore the account

It was reported that Twitter says @xrptipbot violated Twitter’s rules. When the account holder asked for clarity on the citation, Twitter said that the account would not be restored.

Wietse Wind tweeted the conversation.

“Hello, It has come to our attention that your Twitter account is in violation of the Twitter Rules, specifically the policy on Impersonation. Impersonation is pretending to be another entity in order to deceive, and is strictly prohibited. This account has been suspended and will not be restored.”

Wind continued and said that “While the XRPTipBot account is still blocked by Twitter, I made some changes and the XRP TipBot is back using the hashtag #xrptip.”

A Twitter user came up with an idea: “@WietseWind Can you reconfigure to instead monitor for #xrptipbot <@ users> +1 and use the same principle architecture? The update interval might not be as quick as it was, but its an acceptable tradeoff.”

To this, Wind responded with the following: “That’s a pretty clever workaround. The Twitter API does, however not return all Tweets when fetching hashtags, but it’s better than nothing (and the mention-method was unreliable at times as well, anyway).”

Other than this, XRP is expected to have a great 2020.

The digital asset was recently in the spotlight when Benoit Coeure, Chief of the Bank of International Settlements, spoke at the Davos World Economic Forum commented on the use cases for stablecoins and cryptos as well.
