Ripple and XRP have been two entities surrounded by a lot of controversies and they’re in the spotlight again.
You may recall that some time ago, a crypto influencer created a petition in which they were urging Ripple to stop selling XRP.
Now the person is back, and they are saying that they are ready to fork XRP.
Ripple is threatened
The Daily Hodl reveals the fact that Crypto Bitlord told his 102,000 followers on Twitter that he and his supporters will be creating an alternative to the XRP Ledger in about 60 days if Ripple doesn’t stop selling its holdings of the digital asset.
“Finally, people are starting to take this seriously! If they don’t stop dumping XRP, the next step will be a community takeover. We will fork this shit and start again. That is a promise!!”
He also responded to Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse who recently posted a tweetstorm in order to try and eliminate “fear, uncertainty, and doubt facing Ripple and XRP,” as the online publication mentioned above puts it.
Yesterday we reported that Garlinghouse decided to address some of the speculations and accusations once again, especially the ones saying that Ripple holding XRP affects the digital coin’s price.
It’s important to note that he said that Ripple will be soon responding to an amendment in the class-action lawsuit against the company which accused it of selling XRP as an unregistered security.
Now, Bitlord said: “The power of the petition is making waves. Brad Garlinghouse and David Schwartz – you now have 60 days to stop dumping XRP or we will stage a community takeover. If it’s a decentralized network like you say, we have the power to do it.”
He also addressed the issue of XRP being a security as you can see in the tweet below.

The Ripple community and XRP fans jumped in their defense. For instance, someone tweeted:
“Pure garbage from bitlord. Just a BTC maxi who pretended to like XRP in order to turn XRP fans against Ripple.”
