Vitalik Buterin addresses the ETH decentralized movement
Etehreum co-creator slams naysayers who believe that the smart contract platform is only extending the life of the legacy financial instead of offering a decentralized alternative.
In a debate on Twitter, he responded to a statement from the founder of CriptoNoticias who said that the ETH-based decentralized movement is actually creating an ecosystem that’s filled of middlemen.
I really and truly think it’s the opposite. BTC people seem happy to have lots of centralized middlemen (bitmex, tether, liquid….) and it’s the ETH community that’s trying to decentralize these functions with smart contract constructions.

As the online publication the Daily Hodl noted, despite the fact that there is a rift between the Bitcoin and the Ethereum communities, Buterin wants to build a bridge between the two assets that will directly allow users to convert ETH to BTC and vice versa.
We should put resources toward a proper (trustless, serverless, maximally Uniswap-like UX) ETH <-> BTC decentralized exchange. It’s embarrassing that we still can’t easily move between the two largest crypto ecosystems trustlessly.
