Monero (XMR) Giveaway Christmas Scams Arrive

Christmas brought crypto scams as well with all kinds of offers on YouTube.

Speaking of YouTube, you probably are already aware that the video-sharing platform hit the crypto industry really bad these days.

Santa Claus brought some pretty nasty gifts to the crypto community through YouTube as they decided to take down all kinds of crypto content from really important influencers without any warning. The issue is under analysis, and we’ll get back with more details.

Giveaway scams are nothing new in the crypto space, and these have been plaguing the industry for quite a while.

Monero crypto scams pop up for Christmas

AMBCrypto noted that a lot of scams had included Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin in the past now they are rallying around Monero’s Riccardo Spagni on a YouTube channel called ‘Monero XMR’ with Charlie Lee starring in the display picture, also was featured in another Monero giveaway scam.

The description stated, “In this AMA, we are discussing XMR price and talking about Monero price prediction. Also, we prepared an airdrop of 5000 XMR to giveaway for our followers.”

The original AMA seems to have happened during the BECSA Chain Reaction 2.0 event, which was held in August this year.

Monero in the crypto market

In terms of pricing, today, the whole crypto market looks bloody with the most important digital assets trading in the red.

Monero is no exception, and the privacy-oriented coin is also trading in the red at the moment of writing this article.

XMR is placed on the 16th position on CMC, and the digital asset is priced at $46.14.

Monero made headlines just a couple of days ago when it’s been revealed that Poloniex crypto exchange abolished the KYC Process.

In a new blog post, Poloniex revealed that users could trade XMR and cryptos in the future without having to reveal their identity.
