Ripple Adoption: Ternio’s Visa Debit Card Supports XRP

Ripple managed to bag a lot of important partnerships this year and the San Francisco-based company has also been making huge efforts to promote the XRP ecosystem and boost the adoption of XRP.

The adoption of XRP has been going great this year and the moves towards mainstream adoption continue.

BlockCard supports XRP

For instance, Ternio’s Visa debit card called BlockCard is now supporting XRP. This allows users to deposit digital assets and make purchases anywhere where Visa is accepted.

“We asked-you told-we listened. Ternio is excited to announce that Ripple’s XRP is now an accepted currency for use on Blockcard.”

According to the creators of the card, this is now available in the US, and it’s also worth noting that it will soon launch in 31 countries across Europe.

The card supports 12 more digital assets: BTC, ETH, BCH, LTC, BAT, DAI, XLM, PAX, TERN, USDT, TUSD, and USDC.

After reading the announcement posted by Ternio on Twitter, someone made a joke:

“Is my XRP also accepted for the Blockcard or only “ripples XRP” ?” a follower asked and Ternio responded: “XRP is also accepted!”

Ternio also explained that “We can promise that we provide top-level transactions and ease of use. Our team is top-notch and you can begin using your card as soon as you pass KYC!”

Ripple in the news

In other news, it’s been recently reported that Ripple’s fundraising and development arm Xpring invests in Flare Networks – this move will reportedly enable “smart contract capability” for the XRP Ledger.

The company revealed the latest investment via a new press release.

“Flare’s native token will be an algorithmic stablecoin created in part by burning XRP, and payments for a contract can be made and received in XRP via Interledger, which will be integrated with Flare,” according to the press release.
