Binance was recently in the spotlight when it’s been revealed that the platform made another move towards crypto expansion.
Binance is making efforts to expand its fiat-to-crypto gateway for Africa.
This will be happening via a new partnership with Lagos-based fintech Flutterwave.
It seems that from now on, Binance will allow African users to purchase crypto with fiat.
The mainstream adoption of digital assets is one of the most important goals that the crypto industry has set for this year.
There have been a lot of successful moves made that are leading the crypto space in the right direction.
BitMEX releases a statement about a security breach
BitMEX is the largest Bitcoin and crypto derivatives exchange, and it just released a statement regarding a security breach involving email addresses that are linked to their users’ accounts.
According to the info coming from the online publication the Daily Hodl, it seems that “instead of blind-copying customers on an announcement, BitMEX issued an email to customers that revealed the addresses of the recipients.”
According to the official announcement, BitMEX apologizes for the error.
“We are aware that some of our users have received a general user update email earlier today, which contained the email addresses of other users,” they write.
BitMEX continued and said:
“Our team has acted immediately to contain the issue, and we are taking steps to understand the extent of the impact. Rest assured that we are doing everything we can to identify the root cause of the fault, and we will be in touch with any users affected by the issue.”
⚠️We are aware of a large-scale user email leak from another exchange.⚠️
If you are one of the affected users and you also have a Binance account under the same email address, we recommend changing your email immediately using the below steps:https://t.co/sgEr5sqleg
