Monero’s Riccardo Spagni Addresses The Fact That XMR Is Hackers’ Favorite Choice

Monero (XMR)’s popularity seems to be on the rise despite the fact that it’s frequently involved in news reporting bad actors who are using the coin.

The most famous privacy-oriented coin, Monero (XMR)  is currently one of the top 8 coins by daily views on Wikipedia, says DataLight, a crypto data analytics platform.

During the timeframe of December 24, 2018, and January 24, 2019, Monero managed to be ranked as the 6th most viewed coin on Wikipedia.

XMR preferred by hackers

Monero has become hackers’ favorite coin, and core developer Riccardo Spagni addressed the subject.

Monero’s core developer, Riccardo Spagni recently spoke on the matter, addressing how XMR is one of the hackers’ preferred choices and the black market for stealth mining to hide transactions.

“Well, the thing is my personal feelings aside because they were largely irrelevant, Monero is a permissionless network you can’t control who uses it and you shouldn’t control who uses it,” Spagni said during an interview with Naomi Brockwell.

He continued and explained that “The biggest issue that we have with being painted into a corner like that, who decides what is good and bad.”

Spagni also made sure to hi9ghlight how people are wrong to believe that all that has o do with digital assets is illegal when in fact things are not like that.

“People cannot be stopped from the technology they use and this fact should be accepted and embraced. To ensure a safe transaction environment, there should be regulations within the space,” Spagni reportedly said about XMR.

Crypto mass adoption

During the same interview, he detailed how Monero managed to develop and mature over the years and he also addressed the mainstream adoption of cryptos.

Speaking of adoption, these are various achievements in the crypto space which are paving the way towards the much-awaited mass crypto adoption. 2019 is believed to be the year which will change the crypto space for good.
