Boosting Mass Adoption: Starbucks Adopts Blockchain Technology

The mainstream adoption of digital assets and the blockchain technology has been one of the most important goals in the crypto space.

There have been made a lot of moves in this direction, and things continue to go great these days as well.

The latest news is really important for the advancements that are being made towards the achievement of this goal.

Starbucks is now using a blockchain-based platform

It’s been just revealed that Starbucks is now using a blockchain-based platform that is allowing customers of its US stores to know where their beans came from.

It’s been reported that the Microsoft-powered app lets coffee lovers scan codes on coffee bags to track their origin. Farmers can also use a reverse code so they can follow their produce along the supply chain.

Just launched: Meet the people and see the places behind your bag of Starbucks coffee with our new Digital Traceability tool. Simply scan or enter the batch code of any bag of whole bean coffee from U.S. stores to get started: https://t.co/ihvA0Emxyb

“Explore the journey that your Starbucks roasted coffee has taken and learned more about the people and the places that made it possible. Scan the code on the back of a bag of coffee from your local Starbucks cafe to unlock the stories behind it.”

This isn’t the first app to track the path of coffee, according to the online publication the Daily Hodl.

Supply chain technology provider Farmer Connect introduced an IBM Blockchain-powered tool earlier this year with the final goal of boosting the traceability and fairness in the coffee supply chain.

Anyway, the news is really important for the mass adoption of the blockchain tech these days.

This, along with the mainstream adoption of digital assets, has been one of the most important goals that the crypto industry has set.
