Riccardo Spagni Aka Fluffypony of Monero Slams Forbes Middle East For Fake News Involving Ezekiel Osborne And Monero-Related Claims

Riccardo Spagni is better known as fluffypony in the world of crypto, and he’s the lead maintainer of the Monero project.

Monero is now one of the biggest cryptos in the world, and it provides private and anonymous transactions that are maintained by a decentralized network of miners and a legion of amazing developers.

Forbes Middle East reportedly publishes fake news involving Monero

Spagni took to Twitter to set one thing straight. He slams Forbes Middle East for releasing false and unverified news involving Ezekiel Osborne.

The publication writes in an article named The Crypto Millionaire Turning Coins Into Cash that “Along the way Osborne claims to have been one of seven initial co-founders of Monero, the first completely untraceable cryptocurrency and today one of the top ten best-performing cryptocurrencies globally according to CoinMarketCap and Cointelegraph. In March 2018 it reportedly hit a market cap of just over $5 billion.”

Spagni makes it very clear that Osborne is not one of the original Monero core team members that started the community-based stewardship of Monero, as you can see in his tweet.

He highlights the fact that none of the members of Monero team had heard of him before the Forbes’ article was published.

Spagni has another essential thing he wanted to set straight: “Also the claim that the Monero tokens were “registered”, like it’s some sort of ERC-20, is just ridiculous…as is the baseless nonsense about selling 50% of the token supply and keeping 50%. I’m shocked that Forbes did no fact checking on this!”

Overall, Spagni is extremely disturbed that Osbourne was featured in a cover article in Forbes Middle East and the publication should have fact-checked the article.

We’ll keep you posted as soon as Forbes or Osbourne comment on the subject.

Monero’s latest update is a massive success

Other than this, Monero and its extensive and loyal community are having their best days.

The latest update was a complete success for Monero, and now leading crypto exchanges in the world are lowering withdrawal fees for the privacy coin.
